Are You From Kenya? .01

"Are you from Kenya?", I asked. She replied, "No, I'm from D.C." with an American accent. It was a sunny morning on the second day of December and I was drawn to her beautiful smile. I was expecting another Kenyan to join our Kenyan contingent of three, hence I had to 'look' for an ice-breaker. After realizing my 'mistake' I got back to concentrating on having my breakfast. I engaged my Kenyan house-mate on some political banter as I was thinking what the day had for us.

After having my breakfast, I got focused on getting in for the morning session yet I could not take my mind away from that initial smile. I chatted away with one of my colleagues who was Swiss while basking in the morning sun; we both did this as we waited for our colleagues to get ready for the morning session. We delved into the role of the Swiss during WW2 and how the foundations of the modern nation of Switzerland were laid. As we were chatting, guess what? She joined us! I was like, "As in seriously?". I decided to throw down the gauntlet and went on the offense, "Aha, you are from D.C., my name is Kasera from Kenya and my pal is Swiss. The professor informed us of the permission you sought since you got delayed in Amsterdam." "How was your flight? When did you land here?", I inquired. She did look jet-lagged and her smile inasmuch as it was genuine, it betrayed her being tired.

After chatting while basking for a while, we all went in for the morning session. Little did I know that this would be the beginning of a very exciting journey

School

Currently, I am back to being a student who trans-nights as I did way back in medical school. The school I am in has been reputed to have beautiful girls and I have never known what the fuss of these 'beautiful' girls is all about.
As a rule of thumb, I separate my professional life and school life. I keep my profession far away from my school life, I love being a nondescript student. Now few of my colleagues in school know my profession and fewer know where I work and what I do.
On the 8th of April, in our culture class, we had to make group presentations. My group was assigned minority issues of homosexuality, FGM and death penalty. For those of you my friends who don't know part of my JD (job description), public speaking makes one of the core pillars of my work in public health (political health). In my group, I choose FGM due to my medical background since it would be much easy for me to do a write-up. When time came for presentation, I took the challenge to present the FGM section....and I did give an impressive presentation of FGM. After making my presentation, when the next group came to present, I got complements from this beautiful lass. That got my mouth dry. I am still learning how to handle compliments, reason why for a moment, she got me flat-footed.
Last Friday, we were sitting our end of semester exams, I choose a seat at the back of the class....guess what, the lass who complimented me about how rich my voice was sat in front of me! She did smile and say hi, after which she stood up and adjusted her trouser while wriggling her bum in my face!!!! Now, if my mouth got dry the other time, this time I almost suffered cardiac arrythmias! Okay I must admit it, she succeeded in getting my mind racing, oops, heartbeat. Phew, at least I have a three-week break before going back to school for another semester!

First - Time Ever

This is my first post on my blog! Wow, this is exhilarating, I hope I will be able to put some of my experiences in writing so as to share them with my friends.
